Amstrad CPC revival

Nostalgia... I recently got a good old Amstrad CPC+ to play with, unfortunately without monitor. The Amstrad monitors also act as power supplies.

I therefore need to find a power supply and a SCART cable.

Power supply is easy: the CPC+ only needs 5V and 2400mA (the 12V line was necessary for the first generation of CPC).

  • 5 V DC: 6mm power plug
  1. Centre +5V
  2. Outer GND

The SCART cable I need to make myself: for this I bought a SCART cable (TV side), and a DIN connector (CPC side). I unfortunately felt into a trap, which I document here.

There are two types of 8 way DIN connectors:

  • 41524 : the total angle is 240°, 45° between pins except for 2 pins which are at 41° DIN8_41524.png

  • 45326 : the total angle is 270°, 45° between each pin DIN8_45326.png

The CPC+ needs the 45326 type!

  • MONITOR: 8 way DIN type A (45326)
  1. Sync
  2. Green
  3. Lum
  4. Red
  5. Blue
  6. L Sound
  7. R Sound
  8. GND

Also in the works: connect the 3" drive to the PC and backup some protected disks.
