Nostalgia... I recently got a good old Amstrad CPC+ to play with, unfortunately without monitor. The Amstrad monitors also act as power supplies.
I therefore need to find a power supply and a SCART cable.
Power supply is easy: the CPC+ only needs 5V and 2400mA (the 12V line was necessary for the first generation of CPC).
- 5 V DC: 6mm power plug
- Centre +5V
- Outer GND
The SCART cable I need to make myself: for this I bought a SCART cable (TV side), and a DIN connector (CPC side). I unfortunately felt into a trap, which I document here.
There are two types of 8 way DIN connectors:
- 41524 : the total angle is 240°, 45° between pins except for 2 pins which are at 41°
- 45326 : the total angle is 270°, 45° between each pin
The CPC+ needs the 45326 type!
- MONITOR: 8 way DIN type A (45326)
- Sync
- Green
- Lum
- Red
- Blue
- L Sound
- R Sound
- GND
Also in the works: connect the 3" drive to the PC and backup some protected disks.
